Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ACCA-qualified Accountant to manage full-spectrum accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capabilities, and experience in handling complex financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review full sets of accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (e.g., MFRS/IFRS) and statutory requirements
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities
2. General Ledger & Closing
- Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
- Support management in financial planning and cost control initiatives
4. Taxation
- Handle corporate tax computations and filings
- Ensure compliance with SST/GST (if applicable) and other tax regulations
- Liaise with tax consultants on tax planning and audits
5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain internal control procedures
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in accounting processes
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trails
6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
- Collaborate with other departments on financial matters
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
Requirements:
- ACCA qualification (fully qualified or near completion) is mandatory
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience handling full set accounts independently
- Prior experience in audit or commercial environment is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SQL, or similar)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
