Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ACCA-qualified Accountant to manage full-spectrum accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capabilities, and experience in handling complex financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and review full sets of accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (e.g., MFRS/IFRS) and statutory requirements
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities

2. General Ledger & Closing

• Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
• Support management in financial planning and cost control initiatives

4. Taxation

• Handle corporate tax computations and filings
• Ensure compliance with SST/GST (if applicable) and other tax regulations
• Liaise with tax consultants on tax planning and audits

5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Develop and maintain internal control procedures
• Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in accounting processes
• Ensure proper documentation and audit trails

6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Collaborate with other departments on financial matters
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management

Requirements:

• ACCA qualification (fully qualified or near completion) is mandatory
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience handling full set accounts independently
• Prior experience in audit or commercial environment is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SQL, or similar)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
