Head of Marketing

Solarvest

Solarvest company logo

Solarvest Holdings Berhad is a Bursa-listed clean energy company on a mission to accelerate Malaysia's transition to renewable energy. As we grow our brand presence and market position, we are looking for a Head of Marketing who is not just a strategist — but a creative thinker and confident leader who can bring ideas to life, shape compelling narratives, and inspire both internal teams and external audiences.

This is a senior leadership role that sits at the intersection of brand strategy, product marketing, and marketing operations. You will define the brand, drive go-to-market strategy, and build a marketing function that reflects the ambition and values of a company that genuinely believes in a cleaner future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Corporate Brand Strategy & Governance

  • Own and define the Group's corporate brand strategy — positioning Solarvest as a credible, inspiring clean energy leader in Malaysia and the region.
  • Establish brand governance frameworks and ensure consistency across all touchpoints, subsidiaries, campaigns, and external partners.
  • Lead corporate reputation management and ESG/sustainability narrative, aligned with Solarvest's listed company obligations and stakeholder expectations.

2. Creative Direction & Brand Storytelling

  • Bring the Solarvest brand to life through bold, distinctive creative ideas — from campaign concepts to content, events, and brand experiences.
  • Shape and own the brand voice, visual identity, and storytelling approach across all channels and audiences.
  • Challenge conventional thinking — bring fresh perspectives and industry-leading ideas that set Solarvest apart in a competitive and growing market.

3. Product Marketing & Go-to-Market

  • Lead product marketing across Solarvest's portfolio — developing clear positioning, value propositions, and messaging for each product and service.
  • Drive go-to-market strategy for new product launches, ensuring sales teams are equipped with the right tools, materials, and messaging to win.
  • Translate complex clean energy solutions into compelling narratives for B2B & B2C customers, partners, investors, and the public.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry associations, government agencies, and strategic partners to support commercial growth.
  • Work closely with the sales and business development teams to generate quality leads and support revenue growth.

4. ESG & Sustainability Narrative

  • Partner with the Sustainability and Investor Relations teams to develop credible and compelling ESG brand communications.
  • Lead sustainability storytelling initiatives that build trust with stakeholders, investors, and the public.

5. Marketing Operations & Team Leadership

  • Oversee full marketing operations — budgeting, agency management, vendor negotiations, and performance tracking.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team with a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Have the authority to plan and structure the marketing team as the business evolves.
  • Act as a strong, visible leader across the business — influencing at C-suite level and driving alignment across departments.

6. AI & Innovation

  • Lead the adoption of AI across the marketing function — setting the direction, identifying the right tools, and encouraging the team to embrace smarter ways of working.
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI and marketing technology trends — bringing fresh thinking and relevant best practices into Solarvest's marketing approach.
  • Champion a culture of innovation — inspiring the team to continuously explore, test, and apply new technologies that improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 12–15 years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in brand strategy, corporate branding, and creative direction — agency experience is a strong advantage.
  • Strong product marketing and GTM experience in both B2B and B2C environments.
  • Proven strategic thinker with commercial acumen — able to connect marketing decisions directly to revenue, pipeline, and business growth.
  • Experience building or rebuilding a marketing function.
  • Familiarity with listed company environments, ESG communications, or clean energy is a strong advantage.

Skills & Attributes

  • Creative and commercially bold — full of ideas, able to inspire teams, and challenge the status quo with conviction.
  • Strong business sense — thinks in revenue and outcomes, not just campaigns and activities.
  • Embraces AI and emerging marketing technology — actively uses and champions AI tools to do marketing smarter and more efficiently.
  • Assertive leader — confident in the boardroom, with media, and in front of investors. Strong enough to challenge and drive change independently.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller — across B2B enterprise, B2C consumers, investors, media, and government.
  • Well-connected — existing network across media, government, industry bodies, and enterprise partners is a strong advantage.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. Postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
